Exceptional Reading Programs:
Funnix is a phenomenal computer reading program for kids age 4 and up. It takes non-readers all the way up to a solid 3rd grade reading level. My 5 year old is reading, writing, and spelling because of this wonderful program. This program is awesome for homeschool and after-schooling andI highly recommend parents check out this program.
Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons is a classic reading program that was designed by the same authors as Funnix. Although Funnix is a superior reading program, Teach Your Child To Read is excellent! It takes a non-reader all the way to a solid 2nd grade level and incorporates learning to write the alphabet.
I actually started this program with my daughter Jayda when she was 3 1/2 and now I am using it with Anaya who is 3. She is so excited to do her “school work” and gets really upset with me if we miss a day!
Before I started Teach Your Child To Read in 100 Easy Lessons, I used the Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read Pre-K Deluxe Edition
The games and music are great tools for laying down a good foundation of pre-reading skills. Your child will learn letter recognition, letter sounds and rhyming.
Ready-for-School-Packet This is a great packet for parents who want to know how to prepare their child for kindergarten. If you get the videos I suggest, your child will be more than ready! They actually will be ahead of the game!
Must-Have Educational Videos
LeapFrog – Letter Factory (2009) The Leapfrog Letter Factory video is a must in any parent’s video collection. It’s one of the best ways to teach letter sounds. Again, I am a firm believer in teaching kids before they enter public education because they can learn so much sooner! Get this video and your relatives are going to think you are a super mom!!
I absolutely love LeapFrog and my children adore the characters and storylines in these videos. They learn soooo much from these videos!

My kids absolutely love Preschool Prep Pack – 4 DVDs (Meet the Letters, Meet the Numbers, Meet the Shapes, Meet the Colors)! My twin boys who are 2 years old are able to identify all the letters in the alphabet, count and recognize numbers 0-10, can identify their shapes (including octagon, diamond, oval, etc) and they know the basic colors.
These videos kept their attention and most importantly gave them foundational knowledge that I have been able to build upon. Don’t wait until they go to pre-school—Please get these videos for your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews!
If you can get the entire set—you will not be disappointed!
