As a busy mom and internet marketer, I am always looking for great tools that make my job easier and faster.

Several bloggers kept mentioning a tool called “Twitthat.” Twitthat is a great tool that helps you share articles, blog posts, pictures, videos, and more—all with one click!

I love the idea of tweeting good information without having to login into Twitter.Com.

There are a few ways that you may be able to install twitthat.com onto your computer:

First Way

1. Go to http://www.twitthat.com

2. Drag the icon to your browser.

I actually had trouble getting the icon into my browser this way, so I started researching on google.

Second way

After doing a little research I found out that twitthat is available as a firefox add-on.  After installing the firefox add on, all you would need to do was right click on the page your reading or viewing and Twitthat would show up as an option.

Well, after downloading the firefox add-on or at least I thought I did—I did not see twitthat appear anywhere.

So, I finally found another way to add the icon to my yahoo toolbar.

Third Way

1. Click on “Settings” on your yahoo toolbar

2. Add/Edit Buttons

3. Make Button

               *Add Web Address: (http://www.twitthat.com)

*Add Title of Your Button: Twitthat

               *Choose Your Icon Graphic

So now when I come across something I want to share, I just click my twitthat toolbar icon and add the URL I’m looking at, Press Go and I’m set!

Basic Twitter 101-Building a Profile That Builds Your Brand! Part 3

Social Media is all about personal branding and when it comes to Twitter, your profile needs to be designed to communicate who you are.

First—Choose a great picture of yourself. People want to know who they are interacting with so don’t neglect this step.

Second—Choose a background. Although Twitter gives you a selection of twelve background images, it is not in your best interest to choose one of them. This is because they leave the left side of your screen blank and you have to know that, “that strip is valuable real estate, and not using it as good as leaving money on the table.” (Twitter Power)

So in order to maximize the space, you will want a design that enables you to put aditional contact information in the left sidebar.

There are quite a few sites that have free twitter backgrounds so look around to see which ones you like the best. If you don’t like your choices, another option is just paying to have a unique design created. You can get it done for about $59-$150.

However, if you have some technical skills you may want to consider designing your own profile.

But don’t forget that the whole point of having an awesome profile is to get your followers to click on your business or personal links.

“You need them to come to your other Web sites. You need them to click your ads, purchase your products, or subscribe to your services. You need them to help you make money—and that’s not going to happen directly on Twitter. It can only happen by sending them to your other sites.” (Twitter Power, 51)

Twitter is such a powerful, fast paced platform. You can use it to rapidly increase sales, promote products and keep clients updated about up-coming news, services and events.

But before you sign up, you need to be aware that your “username isn’t just a phrase you’re going to enter when you sign in.

It will form part of your URL and will be visible whenever you promote your Twitter Page.

It’s like choosing a domain name for a Web site. Choose poorly, and you could affect your Twitter account’s ability to gather followers and build a reputation.

Your username might be the first thing you enter, but it should be an item you think about deeply.” (Twitter Power, p.31)

My advice is to make it relevant to what you are doing, keep it simple, easy to remember and you should be fine!

So in a nutshell, Twitter is a micro blogging site where you can update your friends by sending a message no longer than 140 characters. The awesome thing is that you can instantly update your friends via computer, Twitter Software, mobile phone, or even your home phone!

So “What on Earth can you put in 140 characters that could possibly be worth reading? Surely you can’t promote products, build a brand, generate interest in your company, and keep people reading with such small amounts of content?

The answers, it turns out, are “a lot” and “yes, you really can!” said New York Bestselling Author, Joel Comm in his latest book, Twitter Power. Joel explained in his book that “…Twitter isn’t just good fun. It’s also proven to be a very important and easy way of finding new users and customers, a powerful networking tool, and an excellent way of picking up useful information.

It’s helped me to build deeper relationships with my partners, my clients, and other entrepreneurs.

It’s extended the reach of my brand, making the name of my business known to people who might never otherwise have heard of it.

It’s brought me advice and suggestions from experts I couldn’t have reached any other way.

It brings me a steady stream of additional Web site users and provides a channel for me to alert people who have visited my sites when I’ve uploaded new content.

And it’s brought me some fascinating reading and a bunch of wonderful new friends, too.”

Joel, along with all the other top internet marketers are very aware of the power and influence of Twitter. Although there are other micro blogging sites, Twitter is currently the fastest growing in the world!
