Brief Bio

So here’s a little bit of my personal background. I was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon—Yes I am from the Pacific Northwest! I am the 2nd child of 5 children—I have 4 sisters and 1 brother—and lucky him–he is the youngest!

My parents grew up in the early 50’s and were part of the generation in Chicago and St. Louis that experienced school and neighborhood segregation. They were really tough on my siblings and I when it came to our education. No C’s were allowed in our house and we were expected to excel academically. Albeit tough at times, all of my sisters graduated from the University of Oregon, and now my brother is finishing up at the same school. For this reason, and not to mention both of my parent’s are educators, my heart for education was birthed. Now I have the honor and privilege of passing on this same value to my children.

I am currently homeschooling my children, not out of fear of public schools, but because I believe children are eager and able to learn at a much younger age than taught in traditional schools. I have been fortunate to find some incredible teaching resources that have made my job so easy! I look forward to sharing all of the knowledge I have picked up along the way! Whether you are homeschooling or desire to “after-school” or “pre-school’ your child with additional resources, I hope to add some value to your efforts.

Growing up in a predominately Caucasian State, we encountered a lot of prejudice and racism. As a child, I experienced a lot of heartache in this area but as a result of my experience, I am very passionate about racial reconciliation and cultural education. Although painful at times, I look for ways to bridge the gap that is brought on by ignorance—so that my children, your children, and our children’s, children’s will have a better future!

Faith and Belief in God are strong values rooted deeply in African American history. I grew up attending church, but my faith in Jesus Christ became stronger when I started college at the University of Oregon. It was there that I was introduced to an amazing organization called the The Impact Movement. This group was committed to helping African American college students grow academically, socially, and primarily spiritually.

During my senior year of college, I had the opportunity to work with homeless teenagers, teen parents, and underpriveledged children. Out of these experiences, grew my heart’s desire to not only meet the physical needs of people, but the spiritual aspects of humanity. Because of this desire, upon graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Degree in Education and Minor in Spanish my husband and I began our work with the Impact Movement full-time.

We were placed in North Carolina for 6 years working with some incredible students at NC State, Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, Peace College, St. Augustine, Shaw University, and other Universities in the area. My job included mentoring, advising, planning and organizing conferences, retreats, and international projects. I also served in the role of seminar speaker at regional and national events. During my last year in N. Carolina I served as Campus Director, which involved fund development, staff training, as well as my continued involvement on campus.

Needless to say, campus life was a blast!! In 2004, my daughter Jayda was born and when she was 6 months we began our work at the Impact Movement National Office in Orlando, Florida. This is where I served on the Operations Team, specifically as a Special Project Coordinator for retreat and conferences, stateside and overseas projects. One of my favorite memories was helping coordinate hundreds of college students to help with the Hurricane Katrina clean-up efforts. I was 9 months pregnant with my daughter Anaya, working with marketing and strategic planning! Although, physically exhausted it was such a great opportunity to share God’s love with people in need!

I love strategic planning and working with teams to accomplish a set mission. I guess that’s why I am very goal and mission-minded even when it comes to my personal life. Our family even has a mission-statement!

Anyway, in 2006, my husband and I moved to Tallahassee, Fl where he began his work with Pfizer Pharmaceutical and I transitioned to being at home full-time with my children. During this season, I really got involved in Network Marketing. I believe Network Marketing is a great way to create additional streams of income. With the right company, awesome product line or service, and generous compensation plan, people can really achieve financial independence.

However, I think most network marketers know how to network but NOT market. So after getting introduced to online marketing and social media—it’s been amazing to be able to attract people who are already looking for what I have to offer! It’s much better than chasing people down! Instead, they’re chasing me!!

I love the fact that as a mother of 4 small children and home school teacher I can reach the world without leaving my home!! Now that’s what I call leverage!! Because of the phenomenal training I’ve received, I just can’t keep this new knowledge to myself—it really can make a significant difference in your business—so whether you are in a network marketing company, have a home-based business, are marketing a particular service or product, or you want to learn how to do some personal branding make sure you sign up for the FREE Training with Jonathan Budd (found on the side of the screen)!

Well there’s so much to share! I could go on about my life—and I will in other blog posts! :-)
